I was not sure that I even wanted to raise rabbits. I got a little Mini Rex that stole my heart, and my husband found his Buddy a Broken Blue Mini Lop. My Husband and I went to many rabbit shows before we decided to breed and show Mini Lops. We met Linda from Dreamcatchers Rabbitry and she was kind enough to let us buy two gorgeous does from her at the show. After we had our first litter I was hooked. We have been breeding for about a three years now. We have had sixteen great litters so far, but have decided to do some very selective breeding for the fall. I have a minor in biology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, so the study of genetics has interested me for many years. I am trying to approach our current breeding program with not only a love for the animals, but the desire to bring out the best genetic traits in both body type, fur quality, and color. We are now concentrating on improving the type of our rabbits, improving on the show quality, while keeping the temperment of our sweet girls and boys.
